The Clerk’s office uses an online service to manage all public record requests. You can request an official or certified copy of a record by using the “Request Records” button on the Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller Website. You will need to register to view records in Polk County, Florida. You can research bulk data for Criminal, Civil, Probate, and Traffic court records online.

Subscription to daily files is $75.00 per month per court division. You can also do a one-time purchase of historical files for $100.00 per year per court division.

Upon request submission via the application’s main page, a clerk will review your request and contact you if additional information is needed. You must sign and notarize the “Subscription Service Agreement” and set up an escrow deposit account for bulk records.
A search can also be initiated by going to the Clerk of the Circuit Courts website form, indicating the search, and listing a last name. Click on search, and the following record populates with information stating:

Date, Bondsman, Name of Bailing Company, Case Number, State vs. Name of Defendant, Case Description (misdemeanor or felony, fine, and judgment.

Records for Polk County, Florida, can be found online. State and local governments recognize open records requests as the law guarantees your right to inspect and obtain copies of state and local public agency records regardless of who you are or why you want the records. You must request under the federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). These records are not protected. Florida recognizes open records requests.

Public records are open unless they have a protection order attached. In Polk County, Florida, you are not required to give your name or explain why you are making a request. However, in some instances, you must register before receiving a public record. You can request records in person, by phone, fax, email, online, or U.S. Mail. All you need is the proper form, which you can obtain from the Clerk of the Court website.

Deeds are legal documents that transfer ownership of an asset to a new owner. Deeds are commonly used to transfer ownership of property. You can receive a copy of a deed by going to the Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller website and clicking on the search tax deeds and lands available tab.
